Have you ever wondered how people get started as stunt perfomers in film?

When I was 9 years old I stumbled across the set of Macgyver while on a field trip with my school class, to an outdoor pool. The teacher was kind enough to ask one of the PA’s if it was ok if we sat across the street and watched them film the scene. It was a warm, sparkly summer afternoon in Vancouver and I was enthralled! We all were! The scene was simple, Macgyver (Richard Dean Anderson) and a co-star pull up in a car, get out, they talk a little and moved toward a house, and cut! But it was then that I knew I wanted to be a part of it. The hustle and bustle, the lights, the crew, and then the director says, “Action” and it all freezes like something out of a sci-fi movie. Time stops around the scene and then magic happens. Since then I have worked on countless productions both in Canada and abroad in every capacity from extra to stunt performer and actress to editing and everything in between. I spent much of my teen years studying and practicing Martial Arts, including: Jeet Kun Do (Bruce Lee’s form) Judo, Muay Thai, and most recently Krav-Maga, just starting out with the last one. I ride a motorcycle every possible minute that I can and it is my second love to film, a close second mind you. I have met tons of amazing and talented people along the way and have gotten to do a few really cool parts myself. So expect fun stories from me, interviews with pictures and video blogs to come!
